Easy Homemade Granola

This simple homemade granola comes together in no time and you will never go store-bought again.

Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • rubber spatula
  • liquid measuring cup
  • Measuring spoons
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • airtight container

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup neutral oil vegetable, rapeseed, coconut
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup walnut pieces or other nuts or a mix
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut optional
  • 1.5 oz chia seeds
  • 1.5 oz flax seeds
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tps ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup dried cranberries or other dried fruit

Instructions
 

  • Pre heat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl combine the oil and maple syrup.
  • Add in all the other ingredients except for the dried fruit.
  • Mix well to combine everything.
  • Spread the mixture evenly on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 350 Fahrenheit for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown, stirring every 10 minutes.
  • When the granola is done baking sprinkle on the dried fruit and mix it in.
  • If you want it to clump up press it onto the baking sheet and allow it to cool.
  • Once cooled to room temperature break it up and store in an airtight container for up to one month on the counter.

Notes

Parchment paper is not necessary but will help with cleanup.
You can substitute honey or agave for the maple syrup.
This is very customizable so feel free to change the nuts, fruit, or add whatever seeds you like.
